Hello there! I’m Dania and welcome to Dandy Bakes Cakes. Cakes hold a special place in my heart – not only do they invoke memories of celebrations, birthdays, and love, but they are such a fun art medium.
Here’s a bit about me: it all started when I bought my first cake decorating kit in 2019 so I could make a two-tiered cake for my friend’s bridal shower – pictured below! While making this cake, I made so many mistakes and had to go to the grocery store three (!!) times while making the cake. Yet, everybody at the party LOVED IT. The great thing about cake is that even when we think it is “bad”, it’s probably pretty amazing.
While I have always loved eating cake, over the past few years I have really grown to enjoy the process of decorating them and trying out new styles. There are so many elements to baking, stacking, filling, frosting, and decorating a cake and so many subsets of skills and knowledge to learn. After hundreds of cakes, I’ve gained that experience and am excited to share it with you.
It can take some practice and time to build your confidence when approaching your next cake – and that is okay. This is a space where you can come as you are, whether it is having never made a frosting at home before or have experience stacking tiered cakes. I’m going to break down each step of the cake decorating process (even the small ones!), share my advice, and tell you about the valuable lessons I’ve learned the hard way (so you don’t have to!)
